Driving is a skill for life

Learning to drive is a skill for life. For most learner drivers, obtaining a driving licence will be one of the most used qualifications they will get in their lifetime.
According to Government statistics, approximately 5 people die every day on UK roads with even more seriously injured. All deaths or injuries can be prevented if you are not only taught correctly but also if you obey the rules of the road.
Steering Skills main objective will be to teach you how to drive safely at a pace that suits your goals and learning style.

Booking your driving test

Please do not book your driving test without consulting your driving instructor first. If you book your driving test without consulting your instructor, you may be disappointed to find out they have prior arrangements and they cannot take you for test. To avoid this disappointment, please consult your allocated instructor when it comes to taking your test.
Steering Skills instructor is entitled to withhold the use of their tuition vehicle for the usage of your test, should they feel you are not up to test standard.

About your progress record

Steering Skills will generate your progress record where you can see a number of skills to learn when it comes to driving and passing your test. Throughout your learning to drive experience with Steering Skills, your instructor will record your progress.
A number of boxes can be ticked in just one lesson, depending upon your pace of learning/ understanding and mastering the skills.
If you are a beginner, it is extremely important for you to understand the controls of the car before you get to drive, so you can use them proficiently when required. You must read the Highway code to get understanding of road signs. If your theory test is not passed yet, then we advise you to also start preparing for the theory test- which will help you in better understanding the road safety procedures.
